Rocky has over 40 years of experience in executive-level management, business development, fund-raising, science, and engineering. He has worked with hundreds of inventors and entrepreneurs. He has been in the trenches with them as they endeavored to develop their ideas, opportunities, and businesses. He has provided strategic corporate and capital acquisition advice to many early-stage companies founded by entrepreneurs who wished to successfully commercialize their high-value creation opportunities, ideas, inventions, and/or technologies. From both successes and failures, he has learned the many hidden secrets and the best practices, which are indispensable to start-ups and necessary to build a successful business.
Rocky has held senior leadership positions (CEO, CTO, COO, and Board Member) in technology-driven companies. He was CEO and co-founder of a technology company in Silicon Valley. As CEO, he took that company public in the UK through a reverse merger with a new entity he and his investors/backers formed as part of the IPO. Rocky has raised money from investors including friends & family, private equities, and venture capitalists. He has worked in positions ranging from marketing & sales to product design and engineering, and manufacturing for commercial enterprises. Rocky has extensive experience leading Research, Development & Engineering (RD&E) projects for critical government and military programs. His experience as a scientist and principal engineer includes winning over twenty Phase I, II, and III Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) contracts.
Rocky has a Ph.D. and a M.S. degree in Civil Engineering from Stanford University and an MBA in Marketing from the Notre Dame de Namur University. He also has an M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from MIT and a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Missouri.
